THE PIVOTAL PASTOR

This book tells the story of how a nationally known priest (Ron  Lewinski), a world-renowned architect (Dirk Lohan), and a farming community collaborated to build a new church on 33 acres of Illinois farmland at the turn of the millennium. It is a story about vision,  leadership, teamwork, communication, change, and transition. During the  6-year project, the parish grew from 600 to 1,200 households, built a  church to accommodate 900 (the old one held 200), and increased ministries from a handful to nearly three dozen. This $11 million project achieved what many thought was impossible. The story is historical non-fiction and includes content from materials that only the author had access to.

This is the most unique and detailed account of this parish's accomplishments that has been written. While it describes serious work,  it is peppered with personal insights, anecdotes, and humor. It describes the experience of a particular pastor and parish, but 'The  Pivotal Pastor' is meant to help all Christian pastors recognize their ability to be pivotal within their own circumstances. The book includes quotes from dozens of people who knew Lewinski.
